The Chair-Based Exercise is to promote the concept of exercising while being stationery. Hence, participants will be sitting on chairs while doing the exercises.
This activity is open to people from all age groups, with priority given to the Elderly. The exercises being introduced to participants in this programme will aid in the promotion of blood circulation, as well as the prevention of stroke and falls.
During the 45 minutes session, these exercises will help to boost blood circulation, improve mobility and posture, increase strength, gently stretch and finish with relaxation. It will be beneficial for people who frequently experience headaches or are suffering from weak limbs and prone to falls.
This Chair-Based Exercise class is conducted by Mdm. Tay Sheau Yin who has been volunteering for more than 30 years in various communities. She has conducted the Chair-Based Exercise workshops in Lakeside Family Services and Marine Parade Foo Hai Elderly Lodge.
