In these times of uncertain economy and social environments, several individuals and families face the consequence of getting left behind. Our assistance and services are catered to help residents cope with difficult times caused by circumstances, such as sudden unemployment or illness.
Loving Heart provides various assistance to deserving residents within Jurong GRC, Bukit Batok SMC and Yuhua SMC. Assistance rendered towards to clients includes food gift assistance, referral to Pupil Breakfast Scheme, referral to our Free Tuition Programme, transport assistance with EZ-Link Card and internal referrals to our other programmes.
Additionally, we also work closely with other Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) in terms of inter-agency referrals to aid deserving residents in financial assistance, counselling services and employment opportunities.
Since Loving Heart’s inception, we have an estimated amount of about 600 cases being referred for various assistance. Generally, our clients may be referred through Meet-the-People sessions, our partnering organisations or walk-ins.
Loving Heart provides about 400 food gift packs yearly to deserving families and the need for this assistance has been increasing over the years. Distribution of Food Gifts is subjected to means testing and evaluation on a case-by-case basis.
We receive regular donations of food items from various organisations, one of which is Bo Tien Welfare Services Society. Our supplies of Food Gifts is dependent on donations. Loving Heart would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to corporate and welfare organizations, civic groups, schools and individuals of the community for their continuous support and regular donations of food items to assist many families through their times of need.
Loving Heart is a one-stop service centre which provides residents with information on matters such as social services and assistance schemes. As part of our referral service and advocacy to the “No-Wrong Door” policy, we work with various agencies and Voluntary Welfare Organisations in our community to bring the residents to the assistance which they require.
