Project Big Heart
In collaboration with Jurong Central GRC and Fullerton Health Foundation, Loving Heart MSC (J) is proud to be a part of Project Big Heart, in our efforts to reach out to the community. Project Big Heart 2017 is in its 7th run since it started in January 2015.
This initiative was piloted to promote the early detection and good management of chronic disease, so that complications can be avoided and to even delay the onset of these diseases, leading to better health outcomes.
On 9 April 2017, health checks were conducted at Loving Heart MSC (J)’s premises. This year, efforts were made to expand our outreach to serve residents in Jurong GRC, Yuhua SMC and Bukit Batok SMC. Additionally, services provided this year even included specialist services such as cataract screening, ECG examinations, flu vaccinations and BMD tests; from the initial basic health checks offered such as blood pressure, blood glucose and BMI measurements.
In a bid to promote and engage residents to lead a healthy lifestyle, healthy cooking demonstrations were well-received with residents. This year, we are also proud to have Singapore Anglican Community Services participating in Project Big Heart to conduct risk assessments for Dementia and/or Depression; and National University Health System (NUHS) conducting outreach for participants in a Diabetes Study.
An estimate of 1000 patient encounters was recorded for Project Big Heart 2017.
